Foss Genealogy II is the second part of the Foss genealogy page found on this website. It was necessary to split the genealogy into two parts to accommodate such a large amount of material.
John was born on 28 December 1956 in the Hudson hospital. He attended grade and high schools in River Falls. John started working part time for Erickson's grocery store in River Falls, and upon graduation he worked full time for Erickson's stores in Hudson and Barron,WI. He then went into business for himself by opening a music stores called the "Music Garden," first in Hudson, and then in Woodbury,MN. After selling out his store he worked for Mando Photo in St. Paul. He then went to work as a salesman for Tombstone Pizza. From there he entered a business partnership with Donato Pizza Company. Then he went to work as district manager for Brown Berry Ovens of Minneapolis,MN. The family moved to Miami, Florida because Julie relocated in her job with Burger King. At Burger King she was promoted to chief financial officer. After a short while the family made a temporary move to London, England where his wife Julie was employed by Burger King Their daughter Jennifer was born in London, and thus had dual citizenship. While in England John took business courses. A short time after returning to Florida John became district manager for Hanover of Pennsylvania. After Julie terminated her employment with Burger King in Florida, the family returned to Hudson,WI. where John continued working for Hanover of PA., and Julie found employment with Doughboy Industries of New Richmond,WI. After a few years with that organization located in New Richmond,WI. she found employment with a firm in Baldwin,WI.
The family bought a horsefarm called "Ivory Hills Stables" near Glenwood City for their daughter Jennifer to manage. This amounted to a family business with all members participating. John retired from Hanover and spends most of his time as maintenance man for the farm business. After a year or so, John R. who was now with a Law practice in Hudson, WI., left the family business.

On December 2, 1978, Julie Lillian Osterland, daughter of Marian Brookshaw, Ellsworth, was united in marriage to John Arthur Foss, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Foss, River Falls.
The Father Bob Koszarek officiated at St Bridget's River Falls. Mrs. Cindee Sauner was soloist, Mrs. Renee Rothe accompanied her on the organ.
The maid of honor was the sister of the bride, Jody Osterland. Other attendants were Vickie Stewart, Cottage Grove, Terry Matzek, Hager City, Susan Foss, River Falls, and Janel Brookshaw, Ellsworth.
Best man was Steven Huppert, River Falls. Groomsmen included Brian Abbott, River Falls, Dick Hilden, Bryan Thompson, and Mike Voldinelich, also of River Falls.
Ushers were David Kraemer, Mpls., and Brad Viney, River Falls. The bride's personal attendants were Anne Lannon, St. Paul and Sharon Bottolfson, Receville, Iowa.
Mr. And Mrs. Robert Pittman were the host and hostess for the reception which was held at the Village Inn after the ceremony.
The bride was a 1975 graduate of Ellsworth High School, attended Rasmussen School of Business and is employed in St. Paul at Mando Photo.
The bridegroom is a 1975 graduate of River Falls High School and is employed at Erickson's, Hudson.
They are at home in Hudson.
